It was a lovely clear day today – but on arrival at Cranfield there had been yet another accident – some poor bugger breaking a nosewheel and shock-loading an engine no doubt. Luckily the airport re-opened so I could begin.
We planned a route from Stewarby to Grafham water, then to Corby, down toward Buckingham and back to Cranfield. As you can see from the map the first 2 legs were great – nicely on track. But the leg from Corby was awful.
This was all just down to a silly mistake in setting my course. It didn’t help that there was bad visibility and we were flying toward the sun … not good excuses for getting lost but good things to learn I guess!
It was a great flight, i certainly enjoy flying from place to place, and it’s very pretty flying over water.
